Based on a recent study from this news Will Americans put on “recession pounds”? the global financial crisis that starts to crawl everywhere in this world will have deep impact on how the Americans eat for their daily intake. The recession affects our wallets and so does on how we spend for our daily needs - foods - thus eat more cheaper foods. It means, more empty calories or foods high in sugar, saturated fats and refined grains. Nevertheless, it can cause you obtain more weights and loosing your healthy life style.
Is there a way to cope with this delicate matter?

Sure, when there’s a will, there’s always a way!
Fresh foods such as fruits, vegetables, spices do have great impact to your health. Here are some tips on how you still can get them along with your wallet.
- Buy seasonal fresh fruits. Usually fresh fruits on their seasons time are far more cheaper because they grow in abundant. Furthermore, the nutrition in it is at its best for your health and serve as natural healing.
- If you have regular shopping groceries, let say once a week, make a plan with your closest friends, or if you belong to a certain communities (bikers, or cat lovers, etc.) to do it together. Some market or stores have discount price if we buy in large amount on particular items and you can share your groceries later on with your friends for the same items. It will save your wallet from recession!
- If you have small piece of backyard or garden, please start to grow something there. Spices, like ginger, onions, etc.; vegetables, such as spinach; fruits, for instance mangoes, star fruit, guava, etc.
- Do not worry if you live in an apartment and don’t have any piece of land. You still can grow fresh fruits, vegetables and spices in a form of hydroponics. You even do not need soil to grow them using hydroponics system. Try it!
