Doctor-Patient Relationship: Tips in The Practice Room

Filed Under (Miscellaneous, Natural Remedies) by Our Home Remedies on 16-05-2009

Okay, now it’s the time for you as patient to take turn and being inside the practice room of your doctor, make sure to use your time efficiently and effectively since many people are waiting outside.

Here below are my experiences and I am sure would be useful for you:

  • Before going to a doctor, while at home: make a list of questions to confirm your doubts on your illness, impact and your medication whether they are truly significant to your health in the long run, or just being merely a worriness as a patient; also make sure that you already cross checked your questions with other reliable sources as comparison for your alternative treatment or healing.
  • Ask your doctor about the symptoms you feel recently, is there any relation with your prevailing conditions in connection with your ailments?
  • Ask the doctor what kind of prescription of drugs or medications that you will consume, is there any side effects? If it yes, request your doctor whether he/she can gave a generic drug medication to find the suitable price. It would be the best way to find an MD Doctor who also specialized in herbal remedies or natural remedies. You will be served by “both worlds”.
  • At the end of your session with your doctor (around 20 minutes), try to rephrase the questions you have asked and make a brief summary from your doctor’s explanations as to avoid misperception for your treatment, nevertheless you will not skip any doubtful you have or forgot your doctor advice. Please jot down your doctor’s explanations, thus is more accurate and you can see your notes again in case you forgot detail information.
