And, how are things going with you now? It is not too late to review again your resolutions this year and make some adjustments.

Let’s check them out!

Here are some tips below that I adopted from Nirmala health magazine (January 2009 edition) for your reference.  Please pick them up accordingly suit to your needs. The most important things is, do your very best to optimize the things that already provide surround you, so you can stick with your budget allocation and stay healthy naturally at minimum cost.

1st Resolution

Old: Manage Your Stress!

New: Take a deep breath at least for 5 minutes per day and do it everyday J

With appropriate breathing exercise and slowly can break your chain psychological reaction due to stress. A recent study said, “A slow and deep breathing is number one antidote for stress.”

2nd Resolution

Old: Stop Delaying!

New: Make Your Deadlines.

Clarify for your priorities, which one is urgent, or important. Then you should prepare a time schedule for all activities and make commitment to complete it accordingly.

3rd Resolution

Old: Sleep longer.

New: Get sleep earlier at least half an hour.

Adjustment to your sleep schedule will increase your sleep quality. Normally for a day we need between 6 and 8 hours to sleep. Make a special ritual before you go to bed. Five minutes breathing exercise, take a warm bath and drink chamomile tea. A good sleep will benefit your immune system, decrease depression and stabilize your mood.

4th Resolution

Old: Maintain relationships with old friends.

New: Get acquainted with a friend and develop a good relationship.

A good relationship can benefit to your health, extend your age, decrease stress, protect yourself from depression, improve your heart condition and increase your sleep quality. Enhance your friendship quality, either by getting new acquaintance, reconnecting with old friend or make new friends outside your office.

5th Resolution

Old: Keep your body shape.

New: Have a walk at least 1.5 hours per day.

This simple exercise is very effective to increase your immune system, maintain your ideal weight, avoid stress, can help your sleep quality and energy.

6th Resolution

Old: Decrease carbohydrate intake.

New: Start to consume brown rice.

Good carbohydrates for your body are brown rice, nuts and potatoes.

7th Resolution

Old: Stop munching unhealthy snacks.

New: Have your breakfast and lunch with better quality, also replace your unhealthy snacks with healthy snacks.

Increase your nutrition amount in your meals during breakfast and lunch. For instance, have a salad (carrot, broccoli, lettuce, tomatoes, paprika, etc.) with potatoes for your lunch. If you still feel hungry, try to have a glass of warm tea with honey around 3 p.m.

What foods are categorized as healthy snacks? Pop corn, dried fruits.

This posting will be continued in Part 2. As first step, you can now review what you have been implemented so far.
