NATURAL REMEDIES FOR PREVENTION AND TREATMENT OF HAIR LOSS

1. A vigorous rubbing of the scalp with fingers after washing the hair with cold water is one of the most effective among the several home remedies for the prevention and treatment of hair loss. The scalp should be rubbed vigorously till it starts to tingle with the heat. It will activate the sebaceous glands and energize the circulation of blood in the affected area, making the hair grow healthy.

2. Those suffering from hair loss or baldness may apply a paste of hot olive oil, one tablespoon or honey, one teaspoon cinnamon powder before bath and keep it for approx. 15 min. and then wash the hair. It was found very effective even if kept for 5 min. also.

3. a. The application of coconut milk all over the scalp and massaging it into the hair roots is also beneficial in the treatment of hair loss. It nourishes the hair and promotes hair growth. Coconut milk is prepared by grinding the coconut shavings and squeezing them well.

b. Daily application of refined coconut oil, mixed with lime water and lime juice on the hair, prevents hair loss and lengthens it.

4. Massage of Aloe Vera gel or coconut milk over the scalp; leave it for about one hour. After this rinse the hair with warm water. It gives amazing results if one uses this massage at least 3-4 times a week.

5. Massage the scalp with uncooked egg yolk, leave for 1 hour and wash.

6. Massage with olive oil before going to bed at night and next morning, wash off the hair gently.

7. Mix 2 tablespoons of olive oil, rosemary, 1 lemon juice and 1 egg yolk. Apply on the hair roots for half an hour and wash off.

8. Rinse hair with a mix of apple cider vinegar and sage tea to help hair grow.

9. Boil rosemary leaves in water, strain and save the liquid in a glass bottle. Use to wash the hair every day. You can also put the rosemary water in a sprayer and spray the hair every morning.

10. Mix 1 tablespoon of cumin to 1/2 a cup of olive oil and rub into the scalp, leave for half an hour and wash off.

11. Mix olive leaves with peach leaves, pomegranate leaves, buckthorn leaves, henna, olive oil, and some salt. Grind and boil the mixture then leave to cool. Drain through a fabric and save in a container. Smear on the hair before bed time and leave for the whole night, wash in the morning. Repeat for 1-2 weeks. It will make the hair stronger and darker and will grow some new hair.

12. Grind myrtle leaves and saturate in water for 24 hours. Apply on hair, cover with a fabric and leave for the whole night (can also add olive oil and salt). Wash in the morning with cold or warm water. Repeat for 2 weeks.

NATURAL TREATMENT FOR PATCHY BALDNESS

1. The most valuable of these remedies is the seeds of lime and black pepper, ground together to get a fine paste. This paste applied on the patches, has a mildly irritant action. This increases blood circulation to the affected area and stimulates hair growth. This paste should be applied twice a day, for a few weeks.

2. The paste of liquorices, made by grinding the pieces in milk with a pinch of saffron, is another valuable remedy for patchy baldness. This paste should be applied over the bald patches at night before going to bed.

3. Onion has also been found beneficial in patchy baldness. The affected part should be rubbed with onions every morning and evening till it is red. It should be rubbed with honey afterwards.

Please be informed that the remedies above are not listed according to their effectiveness. Some thinning hair remedies may benefit some people while the other may benefit other people. 13 Undisclosed Natural Cures for Hair Loss (Part 1)

Filed Under (Home Remedies, Natural Cure) by Eri on 10-12-2008

CAUSES OF HAIR LOSS OR BALDNESS

1. Diet

The most important cause of hair loss is insufficient nutrition. Persons lacking in vitamin B6 lose their hair and those deficient in folic acid often become completely bald. But the hair grows normally after the liberal intake of these vitamins.

2. Stress, Prolonged Illness, Unclean Conditions

Other important cause of hair loss are stress such as worry, anxiety, and sudden shock, general debility caused by severe or long standing illnesses like typhoid, syphilis, chronic cold, influenza, and anemia. An unclean condition of the scalp which weakens the hair roots by blocking the pores with the collected dirt and heredity.

REGULAR HABITS

1. If you want to grow hair, trim the hair every one-month.

2. Do not wash your hair with too hot water.

3. Do not wash your hair more than 2 times in a week. If you use any shampoo, use only a mild shampoo.

4. Never brush the hair when it is wet.

5. Avoid sharp clips, tight rubber bands and spiky brushes.

6. Do not over comb the hair.

7. Do not comb the hair backwards. Use a good quality brush/comb. Avoid excessive brushing.

8. Massage the scalp vigorously for 10 to 15 minutes (until you start to feel hot there) after bathing it with water. This stimulates the blood circulation and strengthens the hair follicles in the scalp.

NUTRTITION INTAKE

The healthy condition of your hair depends, to a very large extent, on the intake of sufficient amounts of essential nutrients in your daily diet. Persons with a tendency to lose hair should take a well-balanced and correct diet, made up of foods which, in combination, should supply all the essential nutrients. It has been found that a diet which contains liberal quantities of seeds, nuts, grains, vegetables and fruits would provide adequate amounts of all the essential nutrients. Each food group should roughly form the bulk of one of the three principal meals. These foods should, however, be supplemented with certain special foods such as milk, vegetable oils, honey, wheat germ, yeast and liver.

HEALTHY DRINKS AS NATURAL CURE FOR HAIR LOSS

1. Drink 1 teaspoon cider vinegar mixed in 1 glass of water with meals for 2-3 weeks.

2. Drink a smoothie of banana honey, yogurt, and skim milk.

3. Drink daily a juice of alfalfa + fresh spinach or fresh coriander. Your hair will grow fast.

4. Drink half a liter of a mixture of lettuce and spinach juice daily to increase the growth of hair.

5. To remove copper deficiency, drink juice of carrot, lettuce, capsicum and fresh alfalfa. This is good remedy for gray hair and hair loss.
