Natural Remedies For Colds To Ease Unwanted Symptoms

Filed Under (Natural Cure, Natural Remedies) by Eri on 14-11-2009

Natural remedies for colds are extremely common because the chemical preparations that can be bought in all pharmacies merely ease the unwanted symptoms and minimise their longevity. These remedies can be traced back for thousands of years.

The usual complaints whilst suffering from a cold are coughing, a painful throat, runny nose, congestion, painful aches all over, tiredness, headaches, fever, feeling sick, vomiting and a lack of appetite.

Natural remedies for colds need not be hard to obtain or make. Initially raising the humidity of your rooms will help reduce the discomfort of a cold. But also make sure to keep your insides hydrated. By drinking more fluids, especially water, you will alleviate symptoms, replace fluids and flush out infection faster. Lemon is also very important among the many natural remedies for the common cold as it help to fight infection and is an antibacterial agent. Honey helps to soothe sore throats. Echinacea and goldenseal have been shown to reduce the symptoms and aid recovery.

If you feel really blocked up the following are extremely helpful: garlic, onion, ginger, spices such as pepper, cayenne, chilli powder, turmeric, cinnamon, cumin, cloves and herbs such as thyme and oregano. Many of these fight infections and are antiviral.

Use tea tree, eucalyptus and peppermint aromatherapy oils to help loosen mucus and heals the throat, nasal passages and bronchial tubes. Inhale vapors of these oils by putting it on a cotton ball, in a steam bath or an aromatherapy diffuser.

Of the many natural remedies for colds there are some surprising ones such as drinking catnip tea (catnip is usually for cats). This herbal remedy has been known for some time. Catnip works as an expectorant and opens up the bronchial passages helping you breathe more easily. It also helps to reduce a high temperature by making you sweat. Catnip contains a sedative compound so it will also help you go to sleep. Catnip should be avoided by pregnant women.

First Aid Home Remedies for Headache

Filed Under (Home Remedies, Natural Remedies) by Eri on 23-12-2008

What will you do to overcome your headaches when they hit you suddenly?

I always use natural remedies to deal with my headache and figure out what was the cause of it. The home remedy I usually take is to drink green tea with 2 teaspoon of lime squeeze and 1 tablespoon of honey. The best green tea is the one without teabag,

like Oolong type is categorize as Chinese green tea, but make sure you use boiled water to reach maximum benefit from this tea. Zip it slowly while still hot or warm.Green Tea

Even if you hold your urge to the restroom (pee) can make you dizzy. Therefore, it is better not to hold it and try to get yourself to restroom immediately.

Lack of sleep, or too much under the shiny sun on my head during the day, sometimes can make me a terrible headache. The best way to eliminate it is only by taking a good rest and sleep well. Also by doing simple meditation and relaxing myself by listening to meditative music that you can download them from YouTube. I usually listen to this kind of soothing music below to calm me down.

Please avoid using headache pills as they can have side effects in the long term to your overall health if you always depend on them every time the headaches strike you.
